Municipal Water Treatment in Wuxi, China
In Wuxi New District’s industrial park, Greentech Environmental Co., Ltd. constructed a large – scale wastewater treatment facility.
To meet China’s strict Class III surface water quality requirements,
FFM`s – 8040 ultrafiltration membrane modules were adopted.
These modules, with a 0.01 – micron pore size on the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane layer, can effectively remove suspended solids and microorganisms in wastewater.

Toray used proprietary fabrication methods to produce thinner hollow fibers, increasing the active membrane area by 25% (up to 90 square meters) compared to similar – sized models.
This improvement not only enhanced the treatment capacity but also reduced the overall system footprint by 20%, cutting down on capital costs.
The facility, with a treatment capacity of 34,000 metric tons, has been operating stably, providing high – quality reclaimed water for industrial reuse and environmental protection. The treated water’s quality meets the standards for industrial reuse, reducing the demand for fresh water resources in the industrial park and minimizing the environmental impact of wastewater discharge.
