FHFPT Pleated Filter Cartridge
The FHFPT PTFE Pleated Filter Cartridge is designed for critical filtration applications accompanied with superior chemical resistance and high flow rates. Utilizing expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane technology, the cartridge is available in both Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic configurations to meet diverse process needs. The Hydrophobic version features a naturally water-repellent PTFE membrane, making it ideal for venting, gas sterilization, and organic solvent filtration. The Hydrophilic version adopts a chemically modified PTFE membrane that wets out easily without pre-wetting, making it perfect for aggressive aqueous solutions, strong acids, and oxidizers.

Product Features
- Exceptional Chemical Compatibility: Resists virtually all organic solvents, strong acids, alkalis, and oxidizing agents (e.g., Hydrogen Peroxide).
- High Flow & Low Delta-P: The pleated design maximizes the filtration area (≥0.6 m2per 10″), providing a high dirt-holding capacity and low initial pressure drop.
- Thermal Stability: Available with high-temperature housing options (PVDF or Stainless Steel) to support steam sterilization (SIP) up to 142°C.
- Pure & Secure: Constructed from 100% PTFE with thermally welded seals—no adhesives or binders to ensure zero media migration and extractable-free performance.
- Dual Functionality: One product family serves both liquid (Hydrophilic) and gas/organic (Hydrophobic) applications.

Precautions
Selection & Operation Guide
- Material Selection:
- Standard (PP Housing): For general liquid filtration at ambient temperatures.
- High-Temp (PVDF/SS Housing): For high-temperature processes or steam sterilization (SIP).
- Hydrophobic: For gas filtration, venting, and organic solvents.
- Sterilization:
- Steam (SIP): 121°C for 30 minutes or 135°C online cycles (Requires PVDF/SS housing).
- Gamma Irradiation: Compatible (Consult for dose limits).
- Flow Direction: Strictly Inside-Out (for most configurations) to prevent membrane collapse.
Maintenance & Replacement
- Disposable Design: The FHFPT filter cartridge is designed for single-use or batch-use only.
- No Backwashing: Do not backwash the cartridge. The pleated structure is not designed to withstand reverse pressure, which will cause permanent deformation and media migration.
- Replacement Criteria:
- When the pressure differential (ΔP) reaches 0.1 MPa.
- At the end of a batch process or production cycle.
